The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme (known as DofE) is open to those aged 14 – 24 years and has three Award levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Any voyages that are 5 days or more qualify as a Gold DofE Residential.

Don’t forget bursary funding is available to support all UK residents (aged 12 – 25 years) to jump onboard Challenge Wales, so check out our Bursaries page to see how. This can often reduce your voyage costs by up to 40% and in some cases much more.

Our Adventure Residentials onboard Challenge Wales  are perfect for those looking for something different to do during 2025. Join us if you are looking to have fun outdoors, meet new people, learn about ocean literacy, develop your teamwork skills or are undertaking your Gold DofE Residential. New for 2025 is the John Muir Award for those interested in the environment and a voyage of 4 days or more can qualify for that award.
