Becoming a member of Challenge Wales is a great way to directly support all aspects of our work and make it possible to help more young people join us sail training.
Why become a Member?
You will become part of an innovative charity that is helping to change the lives of young people for the better. Your donation will help to keep the Challenge Wales charity afloat to ensure that everyone onboard remains safe and contributes to the Challenge Wales bursary scheme to enable us to help some of the young people jump onboard who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity. You will be supporting our work to provide accredited learning opportunities and our educational outreach programme which will help young people think creatively and inspire them.
You don’t have to be a sailor or have come sailing with us to support us and join the Membership Scheme.
There are three types of Membership;
- Friends of Challenge Wales (open to everyone)
- Crew membership (open to volunteer crew only) or
- Shore membership (open to shore-side volunteers only)
Becoming a member is a great way to support young people develop themselves.
“I am keen to see others see what’s out there beyond their front door and am particularly interested in environmental issues. I became a member of Challenge Wales as I wanted to support an innovative charity that I could relate to, that’s making a difference in young people’s lives. It’s great to be able to sponsor a young person”. – Vicky from Cardiff
