Both Challenge Wales and Adventure Wales will be getting you closer to the sailing action with some of our voyages that you can jump onto. Not only as spectator boats for the event but we’ll also be having Open Boat events as part of the Cardiff Stopover event in Cardiff.
Challenge Wales | Wales’ Tall Ship originally raced around the world, the wrong way, in the World’s toughest yacht race. She is now aiming to come face-to-face with the Volvo Ocean Race fleet when they race into the Bristol Channel and into Cardiff late spring. Join us for a three day voyage as we aim to ‘hunt’ the fleet as they arrive, have a fantastic sailing experience and visit the inspirational Lundy Island. Over 18’s only.
Cost – £299 | 3 days
Find us in Cardiff Bay, only accessible via the Barrage on the edge of the Volvo Ocean Race Village
Challenge Wales \ Wales’ Tall Ship raced around the world twice, against the prevailing winds, in the World’s toughest yacht race in 2000/2001 and 2004/2005. The Challenge Wales charity now changes young lives through adventure on the water and bringing opportunities to improve employment prospects. You can jump onboard for a free tour and see how people live, sleep, cook and sail Wales’ largest sailing boat.
Join us for a day of accredited ‘Teamwork’ learning. Work as a team to get the boat rigged and sailing. Hoist the sails, helm the boat, prepare lunch and then reflect on skills learnt and activities undertaken. This is an Agored Cymru Accredited learning day. Suitable for those aged 14 – 25 years.
Start/Finish – Penarth Marina (near Cardiff Bay)
